Report: Spurs midfielder to miss Roma game after training ground injury

Oliver Skipp will miss Tottenham’s final pre-season friendly against Roma after suffering a minor foot injury, according to Football.London.

It is claimed Skipp took a stud to the top of his foot in Spurs training one day before their recent meeting with Rangers, which has been enough to keep him out of the travelling squad to Israel.

The 21-year-old midfielder was absent from Saturday’s 2-1 win at Ibrox, with Football.London confirming the injury was not related to the pelvic problem that hindered him last term.

The England U21 international had settled into the Spurs first-team after putting together a successful loan spell with Norwich before pubitis kept him out for the entire second half of the campaign.

After missing 20 games of the season (Transfermarkt), Skipp went under the knife in April and was part of the group that returned early for pre-season training to build up their fitness (Football.London).

It is more unfortunate news for Skipp as he now will have missed the final two games of pre-season. The good news is he still managed to get some game time in during the South Korea trip, but it will be a bit of a race against time to get himself fit for the opener against Southampton.
