Report: Spurs monitoring £15m-rated boyhood Arsenal fan

Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Todd Cantwell’s situation at Norwich City, according to The Sun.

The report suggests that the 23-year-old had a host of admirers including Leicester City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds and Roma.

Cantwell is out of contract at Carrow Road at the end of the current campaign and the Canaries have slapped a £15million price tag on his head for a possible departure before the end of the month.

Norwich are said to be prepared to trigger a one-year contract extension should no suitable offers be made before the window closes.

Cantwell is a self-confessed boyhood Arsenal fan and put his hand to his lips in front of the Tottenham Hotspur fans in attendance at the club’s new stadium after he scored a penalty in a FA Cup win back in March of last year (The Sun).

Given the fact that Cantwell is an Arsenal fan will not sit well with many Tottenham supporters. Given his poor form this season, the North Londoners would be better off setting their sights on other midfield targets.
