Report: Spurs monitoring £42.5m playmaker ahead of summer window

Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider.

Forest were handed a four-point deduction by the Premier League last week after being found to have exceeded the £61m yearly loss threshold by £34.5m (BBC).

The report claims that Forest are facing a potential firesale at the end of the season and Tottenham are keeping tabs on the situation.

Tottenham are interested in Morgan Gibbs-White

Gibbs-White, a £42.5 million signing from Wolves in 2022 has been a standout performer for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season with four goals and five assists across 33 appearances in all competitions (transfermarkt).

Sources claim that the 24-year-old has the skillset to be playing for a Champions League side with the North Londoners currently chasing a return to European football’s most prestigious club competition.

SpursWeb Opinion

Gibbs-White is likely to attract interest from a number of clubs this summer if Forest are forced into a sale given their current predicament.

His goal and assist return haven’t exactly been brilliant this season, however, Forest haven’t exactly set the world alight with their performances.

The fact he is considered homegrown is appealing but for the price that they are likely to want to command and a potential bidding war, we’re better off looking elsewhere.
