Tottenham Hotspur are said to be monitoring Antonio Rudiger’s future at Chelsea, according to Football Insider.
The German international was heavily linked with a move to North London during the summer transfer window but any prospects of a switch collapsed due to his concerns over a backlash from the Stamford Bridge supporters if he were to switch allegiance to their rivals (Daily Mail).
Tottenham instead decided to bolster their back line with the arrival of Joe Rodon from Swansea City.
Rudiger fell down the pecking order under former boss Frank Lampard but has regained his place in the side following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea are reported to be prepared to enter talks over a new deal with Rudiger, however, Spurs are ready to make an approach.
The 28-year-old’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and is said to be keen for his future to be resolved before next season.
