Report: Spurs monitoring two right-backs including former Lilywhite player

90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move to re-sign Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton.

Right wing-back has continued to be a problem area for Spurs, with question marks remaining over Emerson Royal’s ability to contribute in the final third.

Matt Doherty did not feature much in the first couple of months of the season due to fitness issues and has been used sparingly by Antonio Conte over recent weeks.

Meanwhile, summer signing Djed Spence is yet to start a single match this season, having made just four appearances from the bench so far (Transfermarkt).

90 min claim that Spurs have now drawn up plans to sign a new right wing-back in January, with Conte said to be keen on overhauling the options currently at his disposal.

The North Londoners are reportedly keeping an eye on Walker-Peters, who made the switch from Tottenham to the South Coast back in 2020. The Spurs academy graduate has since progressed considerably and has even been capped twice by England.

90 min add that Norwich City’s Max Aarons is also being monitored by Conte’s men ahead of the January transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

Djed Spence has to go out on loan in January to get some regular minutes. If he can’t prove himself yet on the training pitch, then he has to do it in competitive action elsewhere. I do expect Spurs to invest in a new right-wing-back though.
