Report: Spurs most likely Premier League suitors for Brazilian right-back – Face other competition

According to Spanish publication SPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Shakhtar Donetsk right-back Dodo this summer.

Previous reports have indicated that Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence is Tottenham’s first-choice target for the right-wing-back role, with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold stating that Antonio Conte plans on selling Emerson Royal, and using Spence in tandem with Matt Doherty next season.

However, if Sport’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs also have their eye on Dodo, who has emerged as one of the best players in Ukrainian football over the last couple of years.

The report claims that, among Premier League clubs, it is Tottenham who are the frontrunners in the race for the Brazilian.

However, it is explained that the Lilywhites face competition from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Fiorentina for the young right-back.

Barca are alleged to be particularly keen, with the Catalan giants said to believe that the 23-year-old has the potential to become the next Dani Alves.

Sport add that Dodo has made up his mind to leave Shakhtar this summer as he is keen on a new challenge.

Tottenham may well have scouted Dodo and the 23-year-old could be one of the names on Fabio Partici’s list of targets for right wing-back. However, it is evident that Spence is the preferred target and the North London club would fancy their chances of winning the race for the Boro starlet.
