Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have moved ahead of Newcastle United to the front of the queue to land Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior.
Over the last month, plenty of Italian outlets have backed Spurs to make a move for Iling-Junior in January (TMW) but more recently, it appears as if competition for the Juve starlet is growing.
Last week, Calciomercato said that Marseille are also considering making a move for the 20-year-old while TEAMtalk claimed on December 6 that Newcastle United and Brighton could also push ahead with January offers for the England Under-21 international.
Spurs now favourites to sign Samuel Iling-Junior
Football Insider have now said that while both Spurs and Newcastle have shown interest in Iling-Junior, the Lilywhites have now emerged as the ‘clear favourites’ for the player’s signature.
This is because Tottenham have made the youngster their ‘top priority’ in January, with Ange Postecoglou said to be pushing to get a deal over the line.
The publication adds that the Bianconeri are willing to sell Iling-Junior for £20m as they need to raise funds to make new signings next month.

If Ange is keen on Iling-Junior, one would expect Spurs to get the deal over the line. The Australian would perhaps be able to convince the Juve star that his development would be best served by moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
