Report: Spurs move for striker for commercial reasons with player snubbing offer

Al-Duhail attacker Almoez Ali has turned down a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.

The report suggests Spurs were interested in bringing the forward to North London, but the transfer was based on commercial gain for Spurs who are said to want to grow their presence in the middle-eastern market.

In Ali’s 14 league games for Al-Duhail this season he has netted on six occasions and grabbed five assists (Transfermarkt).

The Sudanese-born forward plays represents Qatar at international level and broke the Asian Cup record with nine goals in the 2019 tournament.
