Al-Duhail attacker Almoez Ali has turned down a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.

The report suggests Spurs were interested in bringing the forward to North London, but the transfer was based on commercial gain for Spurs who are said to want to grow their presence in the middle-eastern market.

With the ‘commercial reasons’ apparent, the approach from the Lilywhites did not go down well with the forward and his representatives who have turned down a the prospect of a  Spurs switch.

Austrian side, LASK Linz have also had their approach rejected, but a move to Galatasaray, Basel, Shakhtar Donetsk or Lokomotiv Moscow is still on the cards for the forward who is tipped to be on the move this summer.

In Ali’s 14 league games for Al-Duhail this season he has netted on six occasions and grabbed five assists (Transfermarkt).

The Sudanese-born forward plays represents Qatar at international level and broke the Asian Cup record with nine goals in the 2019 tournament.
