Report: Spurs named as ‘admirers’ of Ligue 1 striker – ‘Starting with Fabio Paratici’

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi is on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.

This comes after CalcioMercato recently reported that Spurs were considering a move to sign the PSG striker next summer.

Some reliable sources have revealed this month (including The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare and Football.London’s Alasdair Gold) that Tottenham will be pursuing an attacking addition when the transfer window opens in January.

The likes of Dusan Vlahovic have been heavily linked with a move to North London over the last few weeks but a new name has now been mooted in Icardi.

Gazzetta claim that the Argentine may wish to leave France soon as he is not happy with his lack of game time at PSG this season under former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The report suggests that the Premier League and Serie A are the two potential options that lie ahead for Icardi.

It is revealed that the 28-year-old has ‘admirers’ in England ‘starting with Fabio Paratici at Tottenham’.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would certainly take Icardi at Spurs as he would take some of the goalscoring burden off the shoulders of Kane and Son.

However, it sounds like Gazzetta are speculating on the Argentine’s potential destinations rather than having anything concrete to back up Tottenham’s interest.
