Report: Spurs named as possible ‘surprise suitor’ for £88m-rated star

According to the print edition of SportBILD (12/04/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur could enter the race for Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani this summer.

Kolo Muani has had an exceptional first season in Germany, having scored 19 goals and provided 14 assists in 38 games so far across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Unsurprisingly, the Frenchman’s performance is said to have caught the attention of several of Europe’s top clubs, with SportBild claiming that the striker is expected to leave Eintracht this summer.

The report reveals that since the 24-year-old’s contract does not have a release clause, a ‘bidding war’ is expected to break out for him when the transfer window opens in the summer.

Oliver Glasner’s men are said to be hoping for a fee beyond €100m (£88m) for Kolo Muani, amidst the increasing interest in his services.

SpotBild state that Tottenham might be a ‘surprise suitor’ for the former Nantes star even though the North London club do not have a history of paying huge transfer fees.

This is because, the Lilywhites might be in need of a top-class centre-forward this summer, given the uncertainty over Harry Kane’s future.

The speculation linking Tottenham with the likes of Kolo Munai, Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Osimhen over recent weeks, suggests that the club are putting out feelers for the top strikers on the market and are making contingency plans for Kane’s possible departure this summer.
