Report: Spurs named as Serie A club’s main competitors for 22-year-old striker

MilanLive.it have suggested that Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan could battle it out for the services of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee in the summer.

Zirkzee is having an outstanding campaign at Bologna, having managed 16 goal contributions (10 goals and six assists) across all 29 appearances competitions so far this season.

Tottenham’s interest in the centre-forward first came to light back in January when TMW claimed that the Lilywhites were following the player’s progress.

Spurs face competition from AC Milan for Joshua Zirkzee

MilanLive.it have now also mentioned Tottenham as a contender for Zirkzee’s signature while reporting on the Rossoneri’s pursuit of the striker.

The report says that the Serie A giants want to add a number nine to their squad and the Dutchman is one of three options at the top of their wishlist.

However, the outlet adds that AC Milan must by wary of competition from England, where Ange Postecoglou’s side are the ‘most active’ in the chase for the frontman.

With Fabio Paratici continuing to work as a consultant for Tottenham, the North London club will be keeping a close eye on the best-emerging talent from the Serie A.

While Zirkzee‘s numbers in front of goal might not be particularly eye-catching, he is the sort of all-round, versatile striker that Postecoglou prefers to lead the line.
