Report: Spurs not close to completing transfer despite reports of £15m agreement

Tottenham Hotspur are still to agree on a deal with Middlesbrough for Djed Spence, according to Football.London.

It is reported that a transfer fee is still proving to be an issue for the two clubs to reach an agreement on and a move is not close to being completed

The Telegraph reported earlier this morning that Tottenham had were prepared to settle on a £15m fee upfront which could reach £20m after instalments, after previously rejecting previously offers of £10m and £11m, respectively.

It was said that Spence was due to arrive in time ahead of Tottenham’s flight to South Korea on Saturday, however, it now appears that his seat on the plane is now questionable.

Spence caught the eye last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, with the right-back having been a part of their promotion-winning side to the Premier League.

The Spence transfer saga has dragged on and on for the best part of the past couple of months and it looks as if Spurs are now running the risk of the England Under-21 international not being signed in time for the first leg of the pre-season tour.
