The Sun have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are not willing to meet Porto’s asking price for Luis Diaz.
Diaz lit up Copa America over the summer by scoring four goals in five matches for Colombia and he has taken that form into the season, having scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 18 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight so far (Transfermarkt).
SIC Noticias journalist Pedro Sepulveda was the first to report on the news yesterday, claimng that Spurs had made an offer of €45m (£37.6m) plus bonuses for the Porto star.

The Independent subsequently suggested that there is a feeling at Tottenham that they are ‘close’ to snapping up the Colombian and that a deal can be done.
However, The Sun have now revealed that the north Londoners are not willing to meet Porto’s asking price for Diaz.
The report claims that the 25-year-old’s release clause stands at £67m but the Portuguese giants would be willing to listen to offers of around £55m.
However, it is explained that even the £55m figure would be too much for Tottenham to afford.
Spurs Web Opinion
Diaz would be a brilliant signing if Tottenham somehow manage to pull it off. However, Spurs fans should not be getting their hopes up, given the history, the club have on last-minute transfer deals.
Given the way Fabio Paratici operates, one would expect the Italian to have other alternatives lined up if a deal for Diaz proves unfeasible.
