Report: Spurs not looking to push through new Kane contract at the moment

Tottenham Hotspur are not looking to prioritise a new contract for Harry Kane at present, according to 90min.

Kane’s future at Tottenham last summer was the subject of intense speculation with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admitting that he was keen to bring the forward to the Premier League champions, however, Daniel Levy was unprepared to enter into any negotiations (Manchester Evening News).

City have since moved on and signed Erling Haaland to bolster their frontline ahead of the new campaign.

Kane is said to be happy at Tottenham under the management of Antonio Conte, with the club having secured a return to the Champions League next season.

Football.London claimed in May that Kane was excited in the direction in which the club is heading and has a belief that winning a trophy with Tottenham is now a possibility.

The report claims that despite speculation of interest from Bayern Munich, Tottenham are not looking to push through a new contract for the 28-year-old.

Tottenham are showing ambition in the transfer market and will be playing Champions League football under Antonio Conte next season, it feels as if the stars are aligning for Kane to commit his future to the club but it will probably happen into the new campaign.

With the Manchester City door closed, a move to Chelsea or Arsenal being a non-starter and Manchester United in more of a rebuild than Tottenham, he realistically will sign a new deal in N17.
