Report: Spurs now battling several European clubs for Turkish forward

Journalist Gokmen Ozcan has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing a move for Besiktas starlet Semih Kilicsoy, who is turning quite a lot of heads in the SuperLig this season.

If reports over the last few days are to be believed, Spurs are on course to land one of Europe’s most exciting young wingers, with Antonio Nusa expected to sign for the Lilywhites before heading back on loan to Club Brugge until the end of the season (HITC).

It has now emerged that Ange Postecoglou’s men are chasing yet another exciting young forward who is taking Turkish football by storm.

Although Kilicosy is capable of operating across the front three, the 18-year-old, like Nusa, is a right-footer who prefers playing on the left.

The teenager broke into Besiktas’ first-team at the start of last year and he has really caught the eye over the last few months, with five goals and an assist in 10 league appearances this season (Transfermarkt).

The winger has also netted four goals in five matches for Turkey’s Under-19 side and it looks only a matter of time before he breaks into the senior side.

Interest from across Europe in Semih Kilicsoy

Ozcan has now taken to social media to confirm that Tottenham are now one of four sides plotting a move for Kilicsoy.

The journalist reveals that the North London side, along with Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa are ‘following’ the winger ‘closely’.

However, Ozcan does not explain if those clubs are trying to sign the Turkish youngster this window or for next summer, nor does he provide any details on how much the player is expected to cost.

Kilicsoy is still very raw, having made just 14 senior appearances in his career so far. While it is perhaps too early to take a punt on him, Spurs and others will likely keep a close eye on the teenager to see if he can maintain his current form until the end of the season.
