Report: Spurs now in talks to sign £26m-rated attacker in January transfer

The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now in talks with Club Brugge over a deal to sign Antonio Nusa.

Spurs have already reinforced their attack with the loan acquisition of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig but it looks like they are not done yet strengthening their forward line, with Nusa now emerging as a target.

The 18-year-old caught the eye after breaking into Club Brugge‘s starting eleven last season and he has developed impressively since, having three goals and three assists to his name this campaign (Transfermarkt).

The versatile attacker, who prefers playing on the left wing, is quite direct and loves taking on his man, which are characteristics that would make him a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s side on paper.

Brugge want Nusa back on loan

The Athletic say that Brugge are seeking €30m (£25.7m) for Nusa and a guarantee that he will remain at the club for the rest of the season.

The formula of signing young players and loaning them back to their clubs has worked well for Tottenham over recent years, with the club doing the same with the likes of Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie.

The report says that Spurs could end up beating out interest from other Premier League clubs for Nusa, with Chelsea said to have previously made an approach for the Norwegian international.

Spurs Web Opinion

Over recent years, Tottenham’s transfer strategy has evidently shifted to trying to sign promising, young stars just before they explode onto the big stage and Antonio Nusa to Tottenham is an exciting prospect.

Nusa certainly fits that category and there is no doubt that he is going to be quite sought after next summer. One can see why Spurs want to get a run on the competition and secure the teenager swiftly.
