Report: Spurs now more likely to sign defensive target after superb start to season

HITC have reported that Tottenham now appear to be more likely than ever to move for Norwich City defender, Ben Godfrey.

The 21-year-old Englishman has had a superb start to the Premier League season with the newly-promoted Norwich.

It appears that Godfrey is impressing a lot of people too as he earned the captain’s armband in the England U21 match against Kosovo last night.

Unfortunately, Godfrey has just signed a new contract with Norwich so is sure to fetch a penny or two if Spurs do come in with a bid.

The Daily Mail reported back in the summer that Spurs were interested in the defender but they chose not to sign him at that moment.

This may be due to the fact that a season in the Prem with Norwich could be a valuable insight into his progress, not to mention the fact that Spurs already have Cameron Carter-Vickers, Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez, and Japhet Tanganga.

However, Pochettino will need to replace the likes of Alderweireld and Vertonghen if they both leave on frees at the end of this season.
