Report: Spurs offer winger to Everton as makeweight in Richarlison deal

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur have offered Steven Bergwijn to Everton as a part of a deal to bring Richarlison to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Richarlison has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks, with Fabrizio Romano stating on the Que Golazo Podcast on Monday that Spurs are ready to launch an offer for the Brazilian.

The Telegraph now claim that the North London club are ready to offer Bergwijn plus £20m to the Toffees for Richarlison. The report states, however, that the player-plus-cash offer has been ‘firmly rejected’ by Everton.

Tottenham are also said to have discussed the possibility of including Lucas Moura as a makeweight in a deal for the 25-year-old.

The Telegraph add that while Spurs were initially also interested in Anthony Gordon and Ben Godfrey, their sole focus is now on signing Richarlison.

Gordon is not thought to have been part of the most recent negotiations between the two clubs for the former Watford striker.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Spurs are to sign Richarlison, I think it would have to be a straight cash deal. Everton will likely hold out for a fee of around £50m for the 25-year-old. I also suspect that Bergwijn would prefer to join Ajax rather than moving to another Premier League club.
