Report: Spurs offered chance to sign former Liverpool midfielder

Juventus are reported have offered Tottenham Hotspur the chance to sign midfielder Emre Can this month (Daily Mail,)

Spurs have been short of numbers in central midfield due to injuries to Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko but the club did announce the capture of Gedson Fernandes from Benfica on an initial 18-month loan agreement earlier this morning.

It is now suggested that Jose Mourinho could further bolster his midfield options with the signing of Can after Juventus offered the 26-year-old to multiple Premier League clubs.

The German international has been restricted to just eight appearances in the Serie A for the Italian champions this season (transfermarkt) and the Daily Mail claims that Juve are ready to move Can on.

It is revealed that Italian giants have offered Can to Spurs as well as their London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea while it is reported that Manchester United have already turned down the chance to sign the defensive midfielder.

I actually don’t think this will be a bad move as long as the price is right as Can is certainly a Mourinho kind of player. However, a loan deal would be ideal for the club as we will be overstocked in the position once the likes of Ndombele and Sissoko are back in action.
