Report: Spurs officials travel to Turin to meet with Italian ahead of trip back to London

Tottenham Hotspur officials have travelled to Italy and will today meet with Fabio Paratici ahead of his impending arrival at the club.

The Athletic report that a meeting will be held in Turin today and should talks go as planned, he will fly to London later this week where he will be formally announced.

It is expected that Paratici will be given the title of General Manager, rather than Sporting Director and will have a busy few weeks on his hands with the club seeking a new head coach and the transfer window set to open from tomorrow for a period of twelve weeks until 11pm on Tuesday August 31.

Paratici left his role as Juventus’ long-serving chief football officer after 11 years last week and was given a warm sending off during a press conference on Friday.

The 48-year-old has had questions raised about his ability to sell players with big contracts on occasions to help balance the books and played a role in bringing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Paulo Dybala and Kingsley Coman (Football.London).

SpursWeb Opinion

It has been 51 days since Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho and we are heading into a transfer window with no new head coach, a general manager/sporting director who is yet to even arrive in London and the circus that seems to follow the club which has led to massive unrest among the fan base over the past 19 months.

Levy, Paratici, Hitchen and the rest of the board need to get their act together quickly or we will be heading into another disastrous season.
