Report: Spurs ‘on track’ to agreeing personal terms with Chelsea man

According to Relevo, Tottenham opened talks with Chelsea over a deal for Hakim Ziyech on Wednesday morning.

Spurs are expected to sign an attacking player to replace Bryan Gil, who has been backed to complete a loan move to Valencia before Thursday’s transfer deadline (90 min).

Over the past few days, the likes of Wolves’ Adama Traore (GiveMeSport), Leeds United’s Dan James (Fabrizio Romano) and Everton’s Anthony Gordon (Football Insider) have all been mooted as potential targets for the Lilywhites.

Ziyech has also been linked with a move to Spurs, with The Times reporting last week that Chelsea had offered the winger to their London rivals.

If Relevo’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham are now eyeing a late deal for the Moroccan international and have started negotiations with the Blues for the player.

Ziyech is also said to be of interest to Ajax but the report states that Antonio Conte’s men are confident of winning the race for the wide-man.

Relevo add that Spurs are ‘on track’ to agreeing on personal terms with the 29-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite Ziyech’s struggles at Chelsea over the last two seasons, I believe he would be a useful squad option for us. In fact, the Moroccan is probably as good a player as we are going to get, as far as a backup to Kulusevski is concerned. The only question is whether the 29-year-old would be content with a bit-part role at Spurs.
