Report: Spurs one of four PL clubs eyeing striker with 9 goals this season

GiveMeSport have claimed that Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs eyeing a move for Lille striker Jonathan David ahead of the January transfer window.

David first burst onto the scene at Genk as a teenager and the forward’s reputation has continued to blossom since his move to Lille in the summer of 2020.

The 23-year-old is on course to have his most productive season in front of goal since his switch to France, having scored nine times and provided three assists so far this season (Transfermarkt).

GiveMeSport claim that David is on the radars of several Premier League clubs, namely Spurs, Everton, Arsenal and Manchester United. The report asserts that the Red Devils could make a move for the Canadian international in January since they are on the lookout for a striker.

It is alleged that Lille’s asking price for David could go beyond the £40m figure that is being currently mooted if he does well at the World Cup in Qatar.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not expect Tottenham to be in the market for a centre-forward in January as Richarlison can be used centrally if Harry Kane needs a rest. I think Conte will be keen on adding another winger to the squad instead, particularly if Bryan Gil is loaned out, which I expect to happen.
