Report: Spurs one of several clubs willing to meet asking price for 18-year-old midfielder

According to the print edition of Record (13/01/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs around Europe who are eyeing a move for Maccabi Tel Aviv starlet Oscar Gloukh.

Gloukh has come on leaps and bounds since breaking into Maccabi’s starting eleven last season, with the midfielder having scored six times and provided a further six assists across all competitions so far in 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham’s interest in the teenager first came to light back in July when the print edition of The Sunday Mirror (10/7; page 74) claimed that the North London club had already made contact regarding a possible move for the 18-year-old.

However, if Record’s latest update is to be believed, Gloukh has now turned several heads across Europe with his impressive displays this season. The publication primarily focuses on Benfica’s pursuit of the Israel international, explaining that the Eagles are keen to snap up the youngster.

However, the Portuguese club are said to be facing competition for the attacking midfielder from the likes of Spurs, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund all have the player ‘referenced’.

Record assert that all of the aforementioned clubs are willing to match Tel Aviv’s valuation of Gloukh.

Spurs Web Opinion

Just because Spurs have scouted Gloukh (along with a whole host of other European clubs) does not mean that the North London club’s interest in the 18-year-old is concrete. Perhaps Paratici and co will want the attacking midfielder to impress in a bigger competition than the Israeli top flight before considering a move for him.
