Report: Spurs one of three PL clubs eyeing 22-year-old midfielder

Milan Live have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs across Europe that hold an interest in Sassuolo starlet Hamed Traore.

Traore hit the limelight with his displays last season, finding the back of the net eight times and proving another four assists in 2021-22 (Transfermarkt).

The 22-year-old has only recently recovered from a metatarsal fracture that he suffered in June and is yet to make a single start this season.

Milan Live claim that several clubs in Italy and England are now watching the Ivorian, with AC Milan thought to be the front-runner for his signature.

It is explained that the competition for Traore’s signature is expected to be ‘fierce’, with many teams following his progress closely.

The report adds that the attacking midfielder is on the radars of Napoli and Juventus while three Premier League clubs, namely Spurs, West Ham and Brighton, have also entered the race for his signature.

Milan Live state that while Sassuolo have decided not to sell Traore in January, they could cash in on him next summer, with the Serie A club expected to demand a fee over €30m (£25.8m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Traore is quite versatile and could be used centrally in a 3-5-2 or out wide in a 3-4-3. So, he seems like a natural fit for Conte’s system. Given that Paratici tends to keep a close eye on the up-and-coming talent in Italian football, I have no doubt that the Saussolo man will be on his radar.
