Report: Spurs one of three PL clubs plotting summer moves for Serie A striker

TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Bologna centre-forward Joshua Zirkzee next summer but the North London club are far from the only ones who are tracking his situation.

Zirkzee failed to pull up any trees in his first season in Italian football after joining Bologna from Bayern Munich 18 months ago but the striker has been mightily impressive this season.

Not only does he have 12 goal contributions to his name across all competitions (eight goals and four assists) but he has also showcased excellent all-round attributes, which is crucial for modern-day number nines.

Johsua Zirkzee is attracting interest from Tottenham

TMW have now revealed that the centre-forward has caught the attention of a whole host of sides across Europe. The outlet primarily covers AC Milan’s interest in Zirkzee, stating that the 22-year-old’s name is at the top of the Rossoneri’s wishlist for next summer.

However, it is explained that the Serie A giants also face quite a bit of competition from the Premier League, with Spurs, Arsenal and Aston Villa thought to be circling over the striker.

Zirkzee is said to have a release clause of €40m (£34.2m) in his contract and the publication asserts that Bayern have a 50 per cent sell-on clause on the player, which is why they could re-sign him for half the price if they wish.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham will likely enter the market for a centre-forward next summer irrespective of whether Richarlison can carry on his current form until the end of the season and how well Timo Werner does on loan. However, it is too early to speculate on which striker Postecoglou’s men will pursue.
