TuttoMeractoWeb have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Flamengo striker Pedro, who has been prolific in the Brazilian top flight this season.
After first rising to notoriety at Fluminense, Pedro got his big move to Europe back in 2019, signing for Fiorentina, but things did go according to plan for the striker in Italy as he made just four appearances for the Viola before returning to Brazil.
However, he has taken his game up a couple of notches over the last couple of seasons, having found the back of the net 26 times in 35 matches across all competitions so far in 2023.
Spurs, Brentford, and Forest all keen on Pedro
TMW claim that Pedro’s performances this season have caught the attention of several clubs in the Premier League, with Spurs and Brentford both said to be keeping an eye on him.
However, it is asserted that fellow English side Nottingham Forest are the ones who are leading the race for the 26-year-old, along with Saudi Arabian side, Al-Hilal, who are allegedly willing to offer him ‘a very important salary’.
The publication adds that the Brazil international believes that he is now ready to return to Europe and give it another go at the highest level of the game.
Spurs Web Opinion
Pedro’s numbers over the last few years clearly show that he is a much-improved player compared to when he made the move to Florence as a youngster.
However, I cannot see a club with Champions League aspirations, like Spurs, taking a punt on the 26-year-old. A club like Forest would have to be the Brazilian’s next step.
