Report: Spurs one of two clubs in ‘advanced negotiations’ for Juventus star

Spanish publication Sport have revealed that Juventus are in advanced talks with Tottenham and Wolves regarding the sale of Aaron Ramsey.

The report discusses Ramsey’s future in the context of Juventus’ pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Miralen Pjanic.

Interestingly, previous reports have also suggested that Pjanic is a target for Tottenham, with Fabio Parstici alleged to have approached Barca regarding a loan deal for the Bosnian.

Sport now reveal that Pjanic is ready to take a wage cut in order to return to Juventus this summer. However, it is explained that the Old Lady have asked for time to get Ramsey’s salary off their wage bill in order to facilitate a move for the 31-year-old.

The report adds states that Juve’s negotiations to transfer the former Arsenal man to Wolverhampton or Tottenham are ‘already well advanced’.

There is no mention of whether it would be a loan deal or a permanent deal for Ramsey or what type of transfer fee the Welsh international would command.

While I can see Ramsey being a good fit for Nuno’s style of play, his Arsenal connection would obviously be a major roadblock to any deal. Besides, the 30-year-old has struggled since his move to Juve and there is no guarantee that he would recapture the form he showed a couple of years ago should he return to the Premier League.
