Report: Spurs open to selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer

Football Insider have reported that Tottenham have ‘no problem’ selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer just one year after signing him from Southampton.

The Danish central midfielder has been a mainstay in the Spurs engine room in the Premier League this season and has arguably been one of the silver linings of an otherwise woeful campaign.

However, Football Insider claim that a recruitment source has told them Tottenham are open to selling Hojbjerg this summer. The report says that Spurs would take nothing short of double what they paid for the midfield enforcer, which would come to £30m.

This comes after reports that Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a move for his former player now that he is set to take over Roma this summer.

Football Insider add that Tottenham will need to sell players this summer after losing around £150m this season without fans in the stadium, although the report also claims that much will depend on the future of Harry Kane.

It would be madness to sell Hojbjerg this summer when there should be others ahead of him in departing including Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko.
