Report: Spurs’ Paratici set to visit Juventus squad in hotel ahead of Chelsea clash

Sky Sport Italia (as relayed by TuttoJuve) have revealed that Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici will visit the Juventus squad at their hotel in London today.

Paratici spent 11 years at Juventus, serving as the club’s sporting director for the majority of that time. It proved to be the most successful period in the Old Lady’s history as they dominated Italian football, winning nine Scudettos in a row.

Daniel Levy allegedly pursued Paratici for a long time and when he finally got his man this summer, the Spurs chairman is said to have entrusted the Italian with a lot more power than previous directors of football at the club.

The 49-year-old will now get a chance to meet with the Juventus squad, who are in London for a Champions League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.

So, Paratici will reportedly pay a ‘courtesy’ visit to his former players at the hotel that they are staying in to catch up with them.

While Paratici’s CV evidently shows his immense technical expertise, the Italian also seems to be an excellent man-manager.

He is evidently very good at building relationships and fostering a team ethic, as has already become clear during his short time at Spurs.

That is not a trait that one would necessarily associate with the previous sporting directors we have had like Damien Comolli or Franco Baldini.

However, one can argue it is a very useful trait if Paratici is going to oversee the footballing side of the business for the long haul at Spurs.
