Report: Spurs plan to offload 24-year-old regardless of new manager

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham will offload Davinson Sanchez this summer irrespective of who they appoint as their new manager.

Some reports have claimed that signing a centre-back is one of Tottenham’s main priorities heading into the transfer window.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has stated that Spurs would ideally like to sign two new central defenders but they would first have to sell a couple of current players.

Football Insider have now backed up the claim that a new centre-back is at the top of the club’s wishlist. It is explained that the club keen on cashing in on Sanchez and will listen to offers for the Colombian.

The report claims that the North Londoners do not expect to get a big fee for the 24-year-old even though he still has three years left on his contract.

The club’s recruitment team, led by Steve Hitchen, are said to be compiling a shortlist of centre-back targets to replace the former Ajax man.

Spurs Web Opinion

Ryan Mason, Ledley King and Chris Powell seem to be convinced that Dier and Alderweireld is our best centre-back pairing. So, Sanchez has likely already played his last game for Spurs.

It will be interesting to see which of the other three centre-backs the club will move on if they do decide to sign two new central defenders.

Even though some Spurs fans would seemingly prefer Dier to be sold, I believe the club are much more likely to listen to an offer for Alderweireld due to his age and contract situation.
