Report: Spurs keen on two other midfielders who could follow Ndombele

Report indicate that Tottenham Hotspur are set to break their year and a half hiatus from signing players by snapping up Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in a club record £65 million deal (Sky Sports).

It is suggested that Ndombele will sign a five-year contract with the Lilywhties and become one of Tottenham’s highest paid players (Football.London).

While signing Ndombele is no doubt a massive statement by Tottenham, a report in The Telegraph suggests that Spurs will try to sign two more midfielders this summer – Ajax’s Donny van de Beek and Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo.

Van de Beek has won several admirers across Europe this season after scoring 17 goals and registering 13 assists in all competitions for Ajax and helping them to a domestic double. The 22-year-old will be available for around £43 million according to Calciomercato.

Nicolo Zaniolo, who made 27 appearances in the Seria A for Roma after his move from Inter Milan last summer is expected to be much more expensive with Roma demanding £63 million for the 19-year-old according to Sky Italia.

If this report is true, then it looks like Levy is going all out this summer and backing Pochettino. However, with Christian Eriksen looking like he will stay at the club beyond this summer, it is unlikely that Tottenham can afford all three of Ndombele, Van de Beek and Zaniolo.
