Report: Spurs player aware of interest from Real Madrid following approach

Real Madrid have made contact with Tottenham Hotspur to enquire about the possibility of signing Tanguy Ndombele this summer, Football Insider have reported.

Ndombele became a £63 million club-record signing for Tottenham in 2019 when he joined from Lyon and signed a six-year contract with the club (Sky Sports).

The French international experienced a difficult first season in England, notably when Jose Mourinho arrived at the club which led to the Portuguese criticising his first half effort against Burnley in March of last year (BBC).

Ndombele has since revealed that he wanted to leave within a year of moving to North London and the insistence of Daniel Levy saw the chairman persuade him to remain at the club (Football London).

The report claims that a Tottenham source has admitted that Ndombele is aware of the interest from the Spanish giants, but the North Londoners are undecided of whether they will listen to offers as some of the decision making will rest on the shoulders of the new head coach.

The 24-year-old had forced his way back into Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven this season but has been in and out of the side under interim boss Ryan Mason (transfermarkt).
