Report: Spurs player could miss Wednesday’s friendly after picking up issue in training

Dejan Kulusevski’s participation in Tottenham Hotspur’s tour of South Korea got off to an unexpected start earlier today.

Antonio Conte’s side held an open training session at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in front of 6,000 supporters, where they had the opportunity to watch their heroes be put through their paces in a physically demanding two hour stint.

Just ten minutes into the session resulted in Kulusevski leaving the rest of the Spurs group and head to the touchline where he spoke to fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone and pointed to the back of his left leg with The Telegraph reporting was is a calf issue, before going on to discuss the matter with physio Geoff Scott.

Football.London claim that the Swedish international may now not feature in Wednesday’s opening pre-season friendly against Team K-League as a precautionary measure depending on the severity of the problem.

SpursWeb Opinion

It makes no sense to play Kulusevski in a friendly fixture on Wednesday if it could risk him being out for a number of weeks with a more severe issue.

Conte has plenty of other options to choose from within his 30-man squad and could provide an opportunity for the likes of Bryan Gil to step up and catch the eye of the Italian.
