Sky Sports have revealed on their live transfer blog (16 Aug, 10:15) that Bryan Gil could remain at Tottenham this summer.

Gil has been an unused substitute in both of Tottenham’s Premier League matches against Southampton and Chelsea so far this season.

When asked last week if Tottenham need to sign another attacker this summer so they have two players for each of the three forward roles, Conte named Gil as a sixth attacking option, thus hinting that the 21-year-old could remain at the club (Football.London).

This week, multiple journalists, including Matteo Moretto and Hector Gomez, have revealed that despite Valencia’s efforts to re-sign Gil on loan, Spurs have not given the green light for the winger to leave.

Sky Sports have now revealed why Valencia have not been able to sign the Spain international despite holding talks with Tottenham.

It is explained that Gil has impressed Conte in training and the Italian could therefore decide to keep the former Sevilla man at the club for the 2022/23 season.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think the chances of Gil remaining at Spurs are slim as the winger will be pushing for a loan move in order to play regularly ahead of the World Cup. I expect Tottenham to loan the winger to Valencia once they bring another attacker through the door.
