Report: Spurs player is back on the radar of European side

Kieran Trippier has just experienced one of his most difficult seasons as a professional footballer after struggling with both form and niggling injuries.

After enjoying a brilliant World Cup with England last summer, the 28-year-old failed to hit the same heights for Spurs.

Trippier is reportedly among the list of players that Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for this summer as Pochettino has prioritised the full back areas among the positions that need to be upgraded (Football.London).

Napoli were said to be interested in the England defender but their interest in the former Burnley man seemed to have cooled (The Sun). However, according to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester United have now opened talks about a deal to sign Napoli full back Elseid Hysaj.

The report claims that Trippier is now back on the radar of the Naples-based club as they view the Spurs man as the ideal replacement for Hysaj if he is to depart.

Juventus are also said to be keen on Trippier who they have identified a replacement for Joao Cancelo, who is interesting Manchester City (The Times).

Spurs Web Opinion

Trippier looks like he desperately needs a new challenge and the Seria A will certainly suit his style of play. We believe that the club needs to bring in a pacey right back who has the energy to get up and down the pitch for the full ninety minutes as that is something we have been missing since Kyle Walker left the club a couple of seasons ago.
