Tottenham winger Bryan Gil is close to signing a loan deal with Valencia, according to Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida.
Gil has struggled to nail down a place in the Spurs line-up and has yet to make a single Premier League start since joining the club from Sevilla last summer (Transfermarkt).
Mundo Deportivo reported earlier this week that the 20-year-old is unhappy with life in North London and has struggled to adapt to English culture, and that a move back to Spain could be on the cards.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has since reported that Gil could do just that this month, with Spurs in direct talks with Valencia over a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Almeida has since confirmed that Gil is now ‘one step away’ from signing a six-month loan move to the La Liga side, who have the option to extend the deal for another year.
The journalist also stated that a deal has not been made official as of yet, but an agreement could be reached in the coming hours.

This could be a good move for Gil who really needs to be playing. He hasn’t received too many rolling opportunities at Spurs this term, but that is really to be expected as a 20-year-old who has just joined from another country. Hopefully, this move will do his development the world of good.
