Report: Spurs player prepared to wait patiently for transfer he has his heart set on

Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga wants to play for AC Milan next season, according to journalist Daniele Longo.

It is claimed Tanganga, 23, is keen on joining the Rossoneri and is remaining patient as he waits for the club to make their move towards completing a deal.

A deal, which is expected to be a loan with an obligation to buy, is said to be close to completion after Milan met with Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici regarding the versatile defender (Daily Mail).

Gazzetta dello Sport (22/07/22 via Sport Witness) reported Spurs are insistent on adding a clause worth 20 million (£17m), although there are final details that still need to be agreed.

Tottenham also want a buy-back clause in any sale, according to CalcioMercato (18/07/22 – as relayed by SportWitness).

Despite starting last season in the side, Tanganga endured a difficult rest of the campaign after picking up a lengthy knee injury.

Undergoing surgery to repair the problem, his season was cut in half which restricted him to just 19 appearances across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

This looks to be a good move for Tanganga, Spurs and Milan. It is clear that he may not receive too many chances in the side next season so a move away is the best opportunity for him.

The deal is likely to be a loan but it still seems fairly complex with Spurs and Milan wanting different clauses to be added. But either way, hopefully Spurs manage to net a decent amount of money by the end of it.
