Tanguy Ndombele looks set to remain at Tottenham for at least another six months barring any last-minute changes, according to The Athletic.
The mercurial French midfielder has undergone periods of uncertainty in North London, and has yet to play a single minute of competitive football under Nuno Espirito Santo.
It has been reported that Ndombele had asked to leave Spurs this summer, with the club actively looking for suitors to take him on loan or as part of a swap deal for incoming players.
Ndombele had set a personal preference of his next destination and listed Spain or Germany as his desired move.
However, The Athletic now report that Spurs have been unsuccessful in their attempts to offload the midfielder, which means a stay in London this season is likely.
Ndombele is valued at around £50 million by Spurs and currently earns £200,000, which is a major stumbling block for teams interested in acquiring his signature.
Spurs Web Opinion
Ndombele has been a divisive figure between Spurs fans, but with him looking set to stay at the club, he will have to work his way back into Nuno’s plans.
As everyone knows, the talent is obviously there, but having played no competitive football or getting any pre-season minutes, he must now use the international break to get back up to speed and push for a starting spot.
