Report: Spurs player working hard to strengthen hamstrings to cope with Conte’s pre-season

Football.London have revealed that Ryan Sessegnon is putting himself through a rigorous training regime in order to be ready for his first pre-season under Antonio Conte and his coaching staff.

Sessegnon is coming off another injury-hit campaign but the youngster did have a strong end to the season, making the left wing-back spot in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven his own.

The 22-year-old will have to compete with Ivan Perisic for a spot in the team next season and will be hoping to stay away from injuries.

According to Football.London, the former Fulham man is now putting preparatory work to ensure his muscles, and his hamstrings in particular, cope with the demands of pre-season.

It is explained that Conte’s pre-seasons are considered to be among the toughest in football, with the Italian’s fitness coaches trying to get the players into peak physical shape ahead of the new campaign.

Sessegnon is reportedly working with fitness trainer Dan Lawrence, who is putting the Spurs man through a regime to strengthen the various muscle groups in his legs.

This season is an extremely crucial one for Sessegnon and it is imperative that he stays fit for the entire campaign. The strength and condition work that the 22-year-old will undergo in pre-season under Conte and his staff, might be beneficial in helping the youngster avoid muscle injuries.
