Report: Spurs players becoming ‘fed up’ with Mourinho after recent comments

The Telegraph has claimed that some Tottenham players are losing patience with Jose Mourinho after he pointed the finger at them following Spurs’ 2-2 draw against Newcastle United on Sunday.

Spurs threw away points from a winning position once again after they conceded a late equaliser to Newcastle.

Mourinho admitted in the post-match press conference that his players made too many mistakes to come away from the match with all three points.

When asked about what has changed with respect to his sides rarely throwing away leads in the past, the Spurs boss responded: “Same coach, different players.”

The Telegraph now claims those comments have not gone down well in the Tottenham dressing room.

Some players are said to be fed up at Mourinho pointing the finger at them and telling them they are not good enough.

The report also suggests that time may be running out for the Portuguese to save his job, with Tottenham eyeing a potential move for RB Leipzig’s Julian Naglesmann as a replacement.

These reports should potentially not be taken at face value as they may have come from just one or two sources in the dressing room. However, if it is true that Jose has started losing the changing room, it is difficult to see a way for him back.

While I have never been the biggest of Mourinho defenders, I personally did not see much wrong with his post-match comments after the 2-2 draw since some of the individual performances from Spurs players left a lot to be desired.
