Pierluigi Gollini could depart Tottenham after just one season and a potential move to Lazio from parent club Atalanta is ‘gaining momentum’, according to Corriere della Sera via Sport Witness.
Spurs signed Gollini on a season-long loan from Atalanta last summer, with the club said to have an option to buy the goalkeeper for around £13 million (BBC Sport).
However, the 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact in north London and is stuck firmly behind Hugo Lloris in the pecking order, having yet to make an appearance in the Premier League.
Gollini’s lack of game time has led him to reportedly seeking an exit from Tottenham, with Corriere della Sera reporting that the club will not elect to make his loan deal a permanent one at the end of the campaign.
The report states that he expected to return to Italy upon the conclusion of his stint at Spurs, but may not permanently return to parent club Atalanta with Lazio taking a firm interest in his services.
It adds that Gollini’s agent Beppe Riso has made contact with the Biancocelesti over a proposed move which is at a stage of ‘gaining momentum’, and he could replace current No number one Thomas Strakosha.
Gollini has made just 10 appearances for Spurs this season, all of which have come in domestic cup competitions and the Europa League (Transfermarkt).

The move for Gollini just simply hasn’t worked out and he hasn’t provided the necessary impact a back-up goalkeeper should do. When he has been given the chance to play, he has struggled which has resulted in Lloris coming back into the fold in his place.
