Report: Spurs players left shocked by Mourinho’s decision

Tottenham players are said to have been left shocked after Jose Mourinho decided to organise a public fitness session, according to a report in The Mirror.

Footage and images emerged on social media of the Spurs boss overseeing an outdoor training session with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, while Ryan Sessegnon and Davinson Sanchez were seen jogging side-by-side.

The Spurs head coach and the players have received criticism for breaking the UK government’s rules which state that outdoor exercise can be undertaken only with other people from the same household.

Mourinho has since apologised for his actions and vowed to follow the government advice (Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick).

The Mirror claim that the incident has left some members of the squad frustrated. Although they believe the Spurs boss’ intentions were right, it is claimed they are concerned that it sent out the wrong message while the country is i lockdown.

It is claimed that they believe footballers need to set a strong example to others at a time like this by following the rules and are shocked that the Spurs boss decided to work with the trio in a public place.
