Report: Spurs players want Jose Mourinho to concentrate on this competition this season

It has been over 11 years since Tottenham Hotspur last lifted a competitive trophy, coming back in 2008 when they won the Carling Cup against Chelsea in the final.

Ever since then, it has been a series of nearly moments and disappointment for the Tottenham faithful, including a second place in the Champions League this year.

While Mauricio Pochettino carried the team forwards each and every season he was in charge, he never managed to get his hands on a cup.

Perhaps the one criticism people could have of the Argentine is that, at times, he discounted the smaller cups in order to push for the bigger prizes, the Premier League and the Champions League. Ultimately, he fell short and Spurs have been left with nothing.

As a result of this, The Daily Mail claim that the current Tottenham crop want Mourinho to put greater emphasis on the FA Cup this season as they hunt for a piece of silverware.

This comes as the club have already been knocked out of the League Cup by Colchester United.
