Report: Spurs plotting to sign Premier League star – Price tag set at £30m

Football Insider have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing David Raya from Brentford this summer as they look to bolster their options between the sticks.

Spurs are said to be open to selling club captain Hugo Lloris this summer, and while Fraser Forster has proved to be an impressive understudy, the role of Tottenham’s number one could be up for grabs.

Tottenham have reportedly identified Raya as a top target for the summer and, although the Bees want him to stay, they are willing to accept bids of £30m for their goalkeeper.

Spurs are said to be looking for a keeper who is good with the ball at his feet (The Daily Mail).

Thomas Frank even admitted earlier this year that Raya had turned down two different contract offers from Brentford to extend his deal (Sky Sports).

The Bees boss also suggested that anyone wanting to sign Raya would have to pay over £40m (Sun), but that has been contested by Football Insider, who put the price tag at £10m lower.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Tottenham want someone with Premier League experience that Raya, Sanchez, or Meslier would be my top three choices. All of them could be the Spurs number one for the next five to ten years.
