Football Insider has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer Son Heung-min a bumper new contract and the forward is ready to commit to the club.
Tottenham tied down Destiny Udogie to a new long-term contract running until 2026 last week and it was subsequently revealed by Fabrizio Romano on The Here We Go Podcast that the North London club want to ‘keep going’ with contract extensions, with other players also set to receive offers.
Romano named Pape Matar Sarr as someone who is now ‘ready’ to start negotiations with the Lilywhties over a new deal.
Son is also in line for a new Tottenham contract
Football Insider have claimed that Son could also soon follow Udogie’s lead and put pen to paper on a new deal.
The outlet says that Spurs will initially activate the one-year extension clause in his current deal which will keep the South Korean at the club until 2026.
However, they reveal that they have heard from a well-placed source inside Tottenham that they are ready to also offer Son a new long-term contract, which will include a significant pay rise to reflect his importance as captain.
The publication adds that the 31-year-old is ready to commit as he is thrilled by the impact of Ange Postecoglou and is eager to play a key role in the club’s future.

Son has hardly shown any signs of decline and given his general fitness levels, he is someone who will likely be able to carry on playing at the highest level at least until his mid-thirties.
So, it makes complete sense for Tottenham to buck their general policy of not handing older players long-term deals and tie the 31-year-old down to a long-term contract.
