Report: Spurs prepared to sell experienced player for just £10m in January

Brazilian outlet Bolavip have claimed that Tottenham are ready to sell Lucas Moura for a cut-price fee in January.

Moura’s current contract with Spurs runs out next summer but, according to reports, the North London club have the option to extend his deal by 12 months (Football.London).

Over recent months, reports in the Brazilian press have revealed that the winger could return to his boyhood club Sao Paulo at the end of the current season, with the 30-year-old’s family said to be keen on returning home (UOL).

Bolavip have now claimed that Moura could return to the Brasileiro Serie A as early as January, with Flamengo said to be showing interest in snapping up the Tottenham man.

The report alleges that Antonio Conte’s men would be willing to let the former Paris Saint-Germain star leave for 66 Brazilian Real (£10.2m).

However, it is explained that the winger could also attract interest from other Europen clubs, potentially including Sevilla, which might make a return to Brazil quite complicated.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe Conte will want to keep Moura around as a squad player until the end of the season as he will be wary of potentially facing another injury crisis like the one Spurs did in October. I expect Bryan Gil to be loaned out in January and another attacking replacement to arrive through the door.
