Report: Spurs preparing offer for Premier League forward

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham plan on submitting an offer to Everton for Anthony Gordon.

Spurs are expected to be in the market for an attacking player if Bryan Gil joins Valencia on loan (The Athletic), with Gordon said to be one of the names on the North London club’s wishlist (Football.London).

The Times reported on Monday that Chelsea were confident of beating Spurs to the Everton star’s signature.

The report revealed that the Blues had already had two offers rejected by Everton for the winger, with the latter being worth £45m, and were now readying a third offer that would be worth over £50m including add-ons.

Football Insider have suggested that Thomas Tuchel’s men could return with another offer for Gordon but the publication states that Spurs are set to challenge their London rivals in the pursuit of the youngster.

The report reveals that the Lilywhites are readying a formal offer for the 21-year-old, who is valued at £50m by the Toffees.

It is claimed that Spurs have held preliminary talks with the winger’s camp and received encouragement that the player is keen to make the move before the transfer window closes.

Tottenham have already conducted business with Everton during the summer following the deal which brought Richarlison from Merseyside.

Spurs Web Opinion

Gordon will tick a lot of boxes for Spurs as Gil’s replacement, especially given that he is homegrown. I wonder if Everton’s reported interest in Japhet Tanganga (TMW) could give the North Londoners an upper hand over Chelsea in the race for the 21-year-old’s signature by offering the defender as a makeweight.
