Report: Spurs primed for talks over summer right-back signing – Already made ‘good progress’

Tottenham Hotspur are down to just one senior right-back in North London after selling Kieran Trippier last summer and loaning out Kyle Walker-Peters in January.

Even the remaining Serge Aurier has struggled defensively at times this season and Football Insider now report that the Lilywhites are primed for talks over a new option this summer.

The report states that Tottenham are ready to enter into talks with Norwich City over a deal for 20-year-old Max Aarons once the market re-opens.

Aarons is said to now be the top summer right-back target for Spurs and they have already made ‘good progress’ in securing his signature.

Football Insider reported back in January that Spurs representatives had been calling Norwich every day in order to convince them to take part in a deal. However, the Canaries were not keen on losing their man halfway through the season.

Spurs are said to be aware that they face competition over Aarons, but they have already put ‘plenty of work’ into convincing him that he should join.
