Report: Spurs’ proposal to increase Tottenham Hotspur Stadium capacity approved

According to Football.London, Tottenham’s proposal to increase the capacity of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been approved by Haringey Council.

Spurs fans have not been able to step foot inside the stadium for several months due to the pandemic but that has not stopped the club from seeking to push through an additional increase in capacity.

Tottenham’s home ground already has the second-largest capacity in the Premier League, only behind Old Trafford.

The Lilywhites are now set to add another 547 seats, pushing it up from its current capacity of 62,303 to 62,850.

The additional seats will be added across lower, mid and upper tiers and in the huge south stand.

The Haringey Council documents reveal that 62,850 is the maximum capacity that can be achieved without making significant alterations to the stadium.

The Lilywhites are said to have confirmed to the council that that is the final application for a non-material amendment seeking an increase to the seating capacity of the ground.
