Report: Spurs put out feelers to manager Levy ‘thinks the world of’

Football Insider have reported that Tottenham have now made moves behind the scenes to assess whether Scott Parker would be interested in taking the head coach role.

It is said that there is a growing interest from those in charge at Spurs around the current Fulham boss, championed by chairman Daniel Levy.

Levy is said to ‘think the world of’ Parker and sees the former Spurs star as a leading contender for the head coach role for the 2021/22 season.

The report claims that Parker’s pros include playing and coaching at the top level, getting promoted from the Championship and having no Mourinho-like controversy or baggage.

It is also said that Parker would not come with a huge price tag in terms of compensation to Fulham, although Spurs are reportedly happy to wait for their next boss.

Julian Nagelsmann was reportedly Spurs’ top target this summer, but he chose a move to Bayern Munich, while Erik ten Hag signed a new contract with Ajax after holding a meeting with Spurs.

The Evening Standard named Parker on a list of five other candidates for the Spurs job, including Graham Potter, Ralf Rangnick, Gareth Southgate and Roberto Martinez.
